AB Regin acquires 80 % of the German company Riccius+Sohn and makes a large investment in the German market for building automation.

Regin AB, with its head office in Gothenburg, has acquired 80 % of the German company Riccius+Sohn GmbH in Berlin. The well-known company Riccius+Sohn GmbH, which was established in 1955 and has extensive experience in products for heating and ventilation, will carry on doing business in Germany under the name of Riccius+Sohn, under the direction of Managing Director Mark Riccius. The company will now be merged with the Swedish company AB Regin, which has a wide product range and is represented in more than 40 countries.

Riccius+Sohn will become a subsidiary within the Regin Group and will provide a base for the Group's sales and marketing activities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland and Kazakhstan. Like AB Regin, Riccius+Sohn sells and markets their products via an extensive network of distributors and system integrators. The new subsidiary in Germany will also play an important part in the  future development of heating products.

Regin's CEO, Leif Brattschöld, sees the merger as an important step in Regin's continued expansion.

-              "We operate today in about 40 markets worldwide via our own subsidiaries and integrators. The opportunity to acquire a well-established company means that we can establish as a brand even faster, even on the large German market, than we could if we started a sales company from the bottom up".

It is Leif Brattschöld's opinion that the companies' product ranges complement each other very well.

-              "Riccius+Sohn has a very interesting assortment on the heating side, which we will introduce into Regin's range. In addition, there are a large number of Regin products that will expand Riccius+Sohn's existing assortment. Some examples are the Corrigo E and Optigo controllers and our range of valves. The fact that we can offer products and solutions with various communication options and even web techniques also opens up interesting marketing possibilities."

Riccius+Sohn's Managing Director, Mark Riccius, also sees great opportunities to move the market positions forward.

-              "Together we represent one of the market's leading product ranges. Considered against the background of the very large new building program that will be carried out in Germany in the near future, this means we can move our market position forwards significantly. At the same time, we can offer Riccius+Sohn's existing customers significantly broader solutions than before. I am convinced that Riccius+Sohn and the Regin Group's joint offering within building automation will be given a positive welcome by the market."

Since 1947, REGIN has been developing and marketing products for control and supervision of buildings. Today, we challenge the industry by offering energy efficient solutions and the broadest product range for climate control on the market, which comprises anything from comprehensive control systems to stand-alone products, including a wide selection of valves and actuators. Our products are also used by our OEM customers in for example air handling units, heat pumps etc.

The direct contact with our end customers is handled by REGIN-certified distributors and integrators in about forty countries around the world. The Regin Group’s head office is located in Kållered, Gothenburg, and we also have sales offices in Stockholm, Berlin, Paris, Hong Kong and Singapore. Our warehouse and valve production are located in Osby, Sweden, and our development departments are placed in Landskrona, Varberg, Stockholm and Berlin.
